Episode 84: My team has made me better

Welcome to season two of CEO meets homeschool. My name is TImea Parker and I am both a CEO and homeschool mom to my four boys. Welcome to episode 84. In January, my CFO and bookkeeping company, it's our busiest time of the year. We process 1099s for our clients. So it's the only tax form that we process. We're not a CPA firm and I always have to sort of prepare for it. It's kind of a little bit crazy. Cause what's what happened is years ago, I did so much of this. And so mentally I'm always like kind of wound a bit tight, but I wanted to talk today about my team and I'm going to end up probably putting the title of this podcast, my team has made me better. And I just have such immense gratitude for the wonderful people I get to work with. And there is a book, and I think it's called Extreme Ownership. I'd have to, don't quote me on that. But I just, I have had so many examples of where my team has gone above and beyond, and it's hard for me to explain if I let myself think about what amazing people I work with, how caring they are, how much they have ownership in quality work, taking care of our clients, keeping an eye on me, making sure that If I am not sure about things, sometimes they'll speak up and say, Hey, this is really important. We need to address this. I cannot tell you in so many different ways. What a wonderful group of folks that have like gone to bat on my behalf for my small business. And it is the most humbling. It's such a wonderful feeling to just have good folks by your side, and I really don't get any recognition for that. In fact, what I want to say is the people I have worked with have made me a better person, and I'm beyond grateful. And I'm probably going to send this to my team to say how much I value and appreciate you. And I really want to always be an encourager for those in my circle to pursue their dreams. And so I We'll do my best to, um, hold to that. So my encouragement to those who are listening today is invest in the people around you, take care of people that you work with and. you know, this journey of life, it's really about relationships.
