CEO Meets Homeschool with Timea Parker

Episode 108: Time to execute on ideas

Timea Parker Season 2 Episode 108

Welcome to season two of CEO Meets Homeschool. My name is Timia Parker, and I'm both a CEO and homeschool mom to my four boys. Welcome to episode 108. So. Today I'm sitting here in Utah about 45 minutes from Zion National Park, and I'm getting ready to do some deep work, I guess you would call it kind of planning session and a whole bunch of other stuff. But we've been fitting in a lot of fun. I have planned some homeschool outings and whatnot. In fact, we just did a. A TV tour guide and I drove my kiddos on a a TV out in the sand dunes, and it was, it was a lot of fun. So I feel like a, a true boy mom. And a quick recap on one of the prior episodes I shared about wanting to stop at Lake Louise, that was a, a bucket list for me. And the update on that is we actually did end up. Staying getting to go see Lake Louise. And it was beautiful. But the interesting thing is, is I had mentioned you really should get up super early so you can get a parking spot. And as we were driving into Lake Louise, we ended up. We spent the night in the area and I read somewhere else that after seven o'clock, parking is free and I'm pretty sure things start shutting it down. So I was like, well, we're right here spending the night. We're gonna try in the evening.'cause then I can just get on the road the next day without having to try to get into this very busy tourist spot. So we head up toward Lake Louise and it's. Pretty crazy seeing all the blocked areas, no parking, and you can kind of tell how far the car's back back up to try to get in there during the busy times of day in the tour seasons. And I remember driving up there thinking, this is not worth it for how busy it looks like it gets.'cause when I went during the kind of off time of the day, it was completely empty and it just had me thinking of how we. I'm glad I did that, but I'm glad I didn't sit waiting for hours to get into this place because the drive between Lake Louise and Jasper is incredible and there's no lines. And those teal colored lakes, they're all throughout that drive and there's, uh, glaciers and it's just phenomenal. But for whatever reason, lake Louise has been like labeled as a tourist spot and people will spend. So much time sitting in a line when they could just drive a few minutes down the road and get the same, what I think is just as good of an experience. So there's my little update on that. We did get to swing by Lake Louise. I had so much fun traveling with my kids and I'm actually traveling again in Utah right now. We're checking out Zion and. Kiddos and I, we did the narrows, which was really, really a cool experience. So I wanted to give a bit of a update with this podcast. I've previously mentioned the saying about narrow and deep work, and had a lot of crazy things going on, both good and not so good, and. I kind of factor into where I see this podcast going and I thought with all of the busyness happening and kind of a few shifts, um, there's some stuff that I need to work on. So I thought this was the perfect time to say my podcast is gonna go quiet for a bit so I can do some narrow and deep work. I've got two particular projects or business things that I'm working on that I really believe in, and some of my coaching has taught me that. Often we have too much clutter and we have to simplify things. I've grown so much with this podcast, but if I'm going to do a good job on the two things that I really have to be working on, I have to like kind of reassess at least for the moment what I get to spend my time on. And so in addition to that, I'm also going to be executing on my oggi, so by the end of October. I should have that accomplished. And I, the plan is I'll be back, carry on with this podcast. Unless for some reason I feel like this is as far as I can take it, but. I have grown so much doing this podcast. It has helped e courage muscle grow that this introverted person myself has needed to work on. And the best part, of course, has been folks sending me messages saying I've encouraged them, or they've launched a business, or it's given them ideas to pursue. Excellence. And so that's really been like a huge highlight for me and thanks for being on this journey. So I will wrap up by saying I hope everyone had a great summer. I hope fall and heading to winter has awesome adventures and to keep taking big risks. Have a great day. Bye-bye. I'm so glad that you joined me today. If you have found this helpful or just enjoyed following along, it would be a huge blessing to me if you like and subscribe to this podcast. Thanks so.
